Breakfast is undoubtedly the most important meal of the day and, in my humble opinion, breakfast foods are some of the best foods known to earth. You can do sweet or savory or even mix the two! Ever dipped a breakfast sausage in leftover maple syrup? No? You should. 

Arguably the only way to improve breakfast foods is to make them healthier and more environmentally friendly. That’s why we’re bringing you a comprehensive list of five delicious vegan breakfasts to make your morning that much more enjoyable.

Even people who dislike avocado enjoy this staple vegan breakfast food. 

Now, in my experience avocado is a somewhat controversial food. Some people love it, some people hate it, others will eat it if it’s heavily flavored with lemon and salt (that might be me). However, no matter where you stand on avocado preferences, it’s hard to deny that avocado toast is the pinnacle of a vegan breakfast. 

Seriously, even I loved it and I am not typically the biggest avocado fan. There are so many amazing combinations of veggies and vegan foods that you can incorporate into your avocado toast. 

Some delectable avocado toast recipes include:

  • Tomato basil avocado toast
  • Mashed avocado with a pinch of salt 
  • Sliced cherry tomatoes (or dried cherry tomatoes if you want a bit of crunch)
  • Finely chopped fresh basil leaves

  • Mashed avocado with a swirl of your favorite pesto
  • Toasted pine nuts or walnuts

Smoothie bowls are great for preparing ahead of time.

Now, if you ask me, smoothie bowls are something that could be eaten any time of the day. However, they are especially perfect as a morning breakfast or brunch. Aside from being incredibly delicious, they are also packed with tons of nutrients and vitamins that help to fuel your day. 

Like avocado toast you can make many delicious combinations for your morning smoothie bowl and they are great for preparing ahead of time so that you can have a new one each day of the week. Or, if you find one that you especially love, you can have one for every day of the week.

A vegan take on the classic breakfast food means amazing things. 

Pancakes are another great breakfast food enjoyed by many, and there are multiple amazing vegan recipes for this breakfast classic. While pancakes are traditionally made with eggs and milk it is surprisingly easy to make delicious vegan pancakes. 

Some great vegan pancake recipes include:

Breakfast burritos are one of my favorite breakfast foods, up there with breakfast tacos. All of your favorite foods wrapped up in a soft tortilla is the best way to start your day off right.
